The consequences of climate change will have a major effect on the tourist sector over the next few years. Island paradises and historic cities are as much under threat here as the tropical rainforests and the Antarctic’s untouched ice.

The tourist sector makes its own contribution to global greenhouse gas emissions, of course. That’s why Kuoni already offsets the climatic impact of its own business air travel activities. And it’s why, in collaboration with the myclimate environmental protection organisation, Kuoni supports a pioneering project on Bali in which a large recycling facility converts organic waste into valuable compost, and also creates work for 120 local people.
