Kuoni Switzerland to end short-time working Print page

Kuoni Switzerland is to revoke its present short-time working arrangements. The action is being taken in response to higher booking volumes. The short-time working was adopted on 1 September of last year, and has affected around 900 employees.

The present short-time working arrangements at Kuoni Switzerland were introduced last year in response to the difficult economic situation, and have affected staff at both head office in Zurich and the company’s 100 or so travel offices throughout Switzerland.  A total of some 900 employees have had shortened working hours for the past five months.

The personnel affected will now revert to their full working hours from 1 February. Kuoni Switzerland has decided to end the present short-time working arrangements in view of the steady increases in booking volumes that have been observed over the past few weeks.

“What we are seeing,” says Stefan Leser, CEO of Kuoni Switzerland, “is that despite the present tough economic times, customers are rediscovering a desire to travel abroad; and, as they do so, they are tending to put their faith in strong and proven brands.”
